The Lumberjacks dropped the first game of the 2019 season last night 5-2 to the Waynesboro Generals. The rainy weather did not prevent Friday’s Valley Baseball League from being postponed, as the game got underway after a ten minute weather delay. Matthew Cocciadiferro drove in a run in the top of the first for the Lumberjacks, but the Jacks could not get the offense going after that. Pedro Nazario of the Lumberjacks also picked up an RBI in the Seventh. Hunter Davidson started for the Jacks on the mound and pitched four scoreless innings before giving up three runs in the fifth. Davidson (0-1) was credited for the loss. The Lumberjacks take on the Staunton Braves tomorrow night, June 1st, at 7 PM for the 2019 home opener.
