It was a rainy day at Casey Field yesterday however the weather cleared up just in time for the game.
The Covington Lumberjacks faced off against the Woodstock River Bandits
The game was great battle, Jacks led the field for most of the game scoring two runs in the 2nd #13 Lee Clark and #3 Ryan Alvarez, then one run in the 5th #24 Joseph Strange.
The Jacks gave up four runs total to the River Bandits, one in the top of the 7th, two in the 8th, and one in the 9th putting the Jacks down by 1.
In a critical set of plays in the bottom of the 9th inning #5 Caleb Walls gets a hit advancing to first base then sub hitter Nicholas Lares with his first pitch devastates the ball with a deep left center home run to win the game
Pitcher #20 Frankie Fernandez pitched the first seven innings, he had a really great night on the mound with a total of five strike outs, five hits, one ball, and only gave up one run to the opposition.
