After taking an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, the Jacks could not hold on as the Staunton Braves offense eventually took command.

Will Freeman (University of Alabama) made his Lumberjacks debut, pitching three complete innings, giving up three hits and one run. Four Lumberjacks relievers allowed the Braves other 11 runs and 12 hits.

Logan Amiss (Virginia Commonwealth) was responsible for all three of the Jacks runs with his three run home run in the top of the first. The home run was Amiss’s first of the season.

The Jacks (5-3) are back at home tonight, June 12 at 7 p.m. as the Winchester Royals (4-3) travel to Covington.
