Image Express Night & Jacks Win Over Rebels

Last night June 14th our Field of Dreams night with the Image Express AHYS team was a huge success! The kids had a great time meeting the Jacks. Last night couldn’t have been a better night for a ballgame!

The Covington Lumberjacks took on the New Market Rebels ultimately defeating them 11-2. A few highlights to note in the game include:

Trevor Rodgers: Hit a Grand Slam Home Run
Orley Arellano: Hit a Home-Run
JD Mundy: Hit Two Home-Runs

All Things Valley League…named JD Mundy Hitter of The Day “Our hitter of the day, for the second time in 6 days, is Covington’s JD Mundy, from Virginia Tech! JD went 3-4, with 3 runs, 3 RBIs, 2 home runs, and a double. He’s now hitting 400/450/800 in 35 at-bats this summer, with 10 runs and 10 RBIs.”

They name Bryce Zaparzynski Pitcher of the Day:
“Our pitcher of the day is the awesomely-named Bryce Zaparzynski, from Covington and Mansfield University! (Covington sweep of the awards today.) Bryce went 6 innings against the Rebels while allowing 5 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and striking out 6. He earned the win and a game score of 63. He’s now 1-0, 4.72, with 13 K’s in 13 1/3 innings pitched for the ‘Jacks.”
